The contest is over 2m 3½f  and is run as a Novices’ Handicap Chase. The winner will qualify for a £50k bonus should they go on to win any steeplechase at the Cheltenham Festival in March 2022.

So far Voy Por Ustedes, winner of the Arkle in 2006, is the only horse to land the bonus, however plenty of high-class novices have won a Plumpton qualifier in recent years. These include Top Notch, Baron Alco, Lisp, Kalashnikov and Ok Corral.

Plumpton is looking forward to seeing more future stars in this year’s series. Gates open at 10.45am with the first race at 12.45pm.

Advanced tickets are available for £16, discounted to £14 for groups of 10 or more, and on the day tickets can be bought at the gate for £18. Plumpton hopes to see you then!
