Pulborough rider Ryan Perrett takes National title

Competing in a very tight class was Ryan Perrett, aged 15 from Pulborough in West Sussex, partnering Ruby Trevelyan Of Lyonnesse where they secured the title of the National Pony 1.15m Members Cup.

The combination were strong from the start, jumping clear in the first round. The jump off was intense, with the top two combinations separated by only a fraction of a second, with Ryan coming out on top.

After his win, Ryan commented on his mare’s abilities: “She was great in the jump-off, she always thrives in the jump-off environment, the quicker the better.”

Ryan’s sister had been competing the 16-year-old mare recently, but he has taken her back for the week and is competing again later this week in more classes, including the Silver League finals.

Amy Morris, riding Robe Silver Lady, were just a touch behind the winners, taking second place.
