A major highlight of action at Hickstead on Saturday was the Douglas Bunn 1.35m Challenge (Drawn Order) against the clock. A total of 42 riders took part in this event.
The winner was Harriet Nuttall, competing with Rupert Nuttall’s Silver Lift, a grey gelding, and the duo took the first prize of £300.
Harry Bateman finished second on his own chestnut mare Zuniek VD Topjopehoeve Z, winning £200,
In third place was Horsham-based Gemma Tattersall, riding Chris Stone’s 15-year old bay mare, Chico Bella P, winning £175.
Earlier, in the All England 1.20m Amateur Championship, there was a rare occurence – two riders finished on the exact same time to finish joint first.
They were Amy Carnet riding Banderas and Florence Polland competing with Gerswin.
