Two leading contenders pulled out of Saturday’s Grand National

Two prominent horses have been pulled out of Saturday’s Grand National, and with other possible defectors, more potential runners will be able to get in at the bottom of the list of runners.

The £1 million Crabbies Grand National expects to receive confirmation of runners today- but latest ones out of the big race, which has a maximum number of 40 runners, are Jonjo O’Neill’s Sunnyhillboy and Godsmejudge trained by Alan King. The latter horse could go for the Scottish Grand National because his trainer said he couldn’t get him spot on in time for Aintree.

Trainer Martin Brassil is hoping that champion jockey Tony McCoy will be on board his horse, Don’t Push It, who is a 33-1 shot for the race.

Currently the going at Aintree is good to soft and good in places, though rain is forecast there for the next two days and it could change.
