Plumpton plans Easter Family Festival to follow Monday’s Royal visit

Plumpton Racecourse, which on Monday welcomes HRH The Princess Royal to its next raceday, is also anticipating its biggest attendance of the year with its popular two-day Totepool Easter Family Festival meeting on Easter Sunday and Monday, April 20 and 21.

As always, accompanied children under 18 can get in free – and with admission prices starting from only £10 for adults,  including a free race programme, it offers a great value day out for all the family.

Competitive racing in the enhanced facilities at this undulating left-hand track of just over a mile will be accompanied by a family theme on this special weekend.The race card for both days is impressive – Plumpton is offering the richest prizemoney in the UK on both days with over £115,000 on offer –  sure to lure the top jockeys and trainers.  There is also a second running of the Totepool Sussex Champion Hurdle on Easter Sunday worth £30,000. 

For racing first timers, Desert Orchid’s jockey, Colin Brown, will be on hand both days to guide you through the day’s racing with features and interviews through the afternoon from the parade ring.

Children’s entertainment by Mike the Knight and a Children’s Easteer Bonnet competition on Easter Sunday, will be followed by Peppa Pig joining the the fun on Easter Monday, with a traditional funfair based in the picnic enclosure, along with music, face painting and an Easter egg giveaway.

There will an opportunity to see Mike the Knight at regular intervals on Easter Sunday along with a Children’s Easter Bonnet competition with prizes for both under 5s and over 5s. Peppa Pig will be joining in the fun on Easter Monday and on both days a traditional funfair will be based in the Picnic Enclosure along with music, face painting and an Easter egg giveaway.
