At The Races Sussex National takes place this Sunday at Plumpton racecourse

One of the highlights of Plumpton’s racing season is the At The Races Sussex National Raceday this Sunday, January 5 when racegoers can welcome in  the New Year at this highlight of Plumpton’s season. Last year’s race was won by Well Refreshed, trained by Gary Moore and ridden by his son Joshua. In 2012 it went to Bob Buckler’s Double Dizzie ridden by Andrew Glassonbury.

The feature race of the day is the £25,000 At The Races Sussex National over a marathon three miles and five furlongs- a race that can be a stepping-stone for potential Aintree Grand National runners.

A festive atmosphere is guaranteed with live music from Reel Strings, mulled wine and fantastic racing. Desert Orchid’s jockey Colin Brown will be on hand to guide racegoers through the day’s racing with features and interviews through the afternoon from the parade ring.

Gates Open at 11am and there will be a Punters Panel to mark your card for the afternoon, which takes place at 12.10pm in the Winners’ Enclosure. Racing starts at 12.50pm with the last race at 3.50pm.

Admission Prices – Adult Admission £18 (on the day) including a free programme and parking; Senior Concessions (60+) on the day with photo ID: £14; Children under 18: FREE
